In November 2010, “Second Cup was thrilled to announce a newly established partnership with Salvation Army Canada, to support individuals in need during this special time of year. Effective November 29, 2010 guests can purchase a limited edition $3 gift card (while supplies last), and a contribution in appreciation of gift card purchases will be donated to the Salvation Army” (Salvation Army). 1. It's good to see Second Cup actively working in the community, however there has been quite a bit of controversy wih the Salvation Army arising from their stance on homosexuality. I wonder if this was the smartest chocie in partnership, considering how recent this controversy is.
